The Economic Development Partnership of Bolivar & Polk County has signed on for Innovate SOMO, a partnership between Missouri State University's Efactory and Cape Girardeau-based technology incubator Codefi LLC.
The EDP's agreement with Innovate SOMO – short for Southern Missouri Innovation Network – is intended to boost educational and job opportunities in the Bolivar and Polk County areas, according to a news release.
“We are excited to partner with the Southern Missouri Innovation Network through the Efactory and Codefi,” said Nick Seiner, EDP board chair, in the release. “Providing support to local entrepreneurs and helping small businesses succeed is a win-win for all residents of Bolivar and Polk County.”
The EDP now is part of an initiative with more than two dozen partner communities.
Innovate SOMO includes training and education programs, business- building assistance and help in creating jobs. The annual economic impact of the initiative is estimated at around $37 million.
