A new economic development initiative from the city of Branson has a goal of supporting business growth in the community.
The Branson Board of Aldermen has scheduled a series of special meetings designed to spur existing and new business investment, according to a news release. Public comment is encouraged at the meetings, with the first scheduled Jan. 29, followed by two others planned on Jan. 30 and Feb. 29.
"We want to create a stronger environment for our local businesses, all while attracting new development, in order for our city to grow and prosper," City Administrator Cathy Stepp said in the release. "I look forward to our series of dynamic conversations with the community about how we can beautify, expand and modernize while still preserving our tradition and heritage. It will be fantastic and forward-moving momentum that our city truly deserves."
The city's administration and economic development leadership are slated to be in attendance at the special board meetings to review current practices and available incentive programs, better understand community priorities and explore the potential modernization of Branson's economic development policy, according to the release.
The upcoming special meetings are slated to be held at 6 p.m. on their respective days at city hall.
Moseley’s Discount Office Products was purchased; Side Chick opened in Branson; and the Springfield franchise store of NoBaked Cookie Dough changed ownership.
