Curb Appeal: Nearly $18M in high-end homes listed in February

Nearly $18 million worth of high-end homes were listed on the market for sale in February.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of 24 single-family homes within city limits that were listed last month with asking prices of $500,000 or more. It’s the highest tally since 29 homes in October and compares with 19 in January and 21 in December.

Combined, the homeowners who listed residences last month are seeking $17.8 million, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

The highest-priced home of the month is a $2 million residence at 3345 E. Sommerset Road, located near Highland Springs Country Club. With five bedrooms and five bedrooms, the nearly 7,500-square-foot property sits on 1.3 acres.

In the Greater Springfield Board of Realtors' service area, the average sale price for homes in February was $299,382, up from $281,994 in the same month of 2023. There were 400 units sold last month, compared with 394 in February 2023, according to the latest GSBOR data.

Statewide, the average residential sale price increased 5% to $278,841 in January, according to the latest data from the Missouri Realtors association.
