Project description: An O’Reilly Auto Parts hub store is under construction at the intersection of Cox and Battlefield roads, just west of Kansas Expressway. The store will be slightly larger than a typical O’Reilly Auto Parts, with extra warehouse space included. Brett Simmons, project manager with Springfield Builders, said the building is a standard concrete masonry shell with a preengineered metal building installed inside. As a hub store, the building will serve as regional support for nearby retail stores, carrying nearly double the stock-keeping units of a typical store. Springfield-based O’Reilly Auto Parts, established in 1957, operates 6,027 stores in 48 states and Puerto Rico, plus 44 stores in Mexico, with more than 84,000 employees, according to the corporate website.
