A Greene County business owner has been sentenced for deceptive practices operating Enloe Exteriors.
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey's office announced in a news release that company owner James Enloe was convicted Dec. 19 on one count of unlawful merchandising practices. A four-year prison sentence handed down this month by Judge Jerry Harmison Jr. has been suspended, with a five-year felony probation required.
Additionally, Enloe is required to pay $82,238 in restitution to his victims, according to the release.
Then led by Eric Schmitt, the state attorney general's office in 2022 charged Enloe with allegedly defrauding customers through Enloe Exteriors. Enloe was accused of providing minimal supplies or partial work before abandoning home renovation and repair projects after taking several payments, according to past reporting.
Enloe pleaded guilty to the unlawful merchandising practices count before the judgment last week.
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
