“We received our initial investment, which was a great start up investment. Any founder would have loved to have had that,” says Charity McGill, CEO and Co-founder of Deep Water Software. “At the same time, I knew it wasn’t going to be enough to reach product and market fit.” McGill worked with Missouri State University’s Small Business & Technology Development Center and learned how to leverage her investment into a loan that nearly tripled their initial capital investment. She says the finance course at the SBTDC helped her set goals and think differently about her business.
