Three Springfield-area companies made Newsweek's annual list of the America's Greatest Workplaces.
The list, published this month, names CoxHealth, Jack Henry & Associates Inc. (Nasdaq: JKHY) and Incredible Pizza Co. In partnership with data firm Plant-A Insights Group, the Newsweek list is based on employee surveys at companies that have at least 1,000 workers.
The list is not ranked but includes a star rating out of five. Jack Henry has five stars, while CoxHealth and Incredible Pizza Co. each have 4.5 stars. The list comprises the top 1,000 companies in the United States.
"In an economic climate where the job market remains competitive despite fears of a recession, employers who stand out as America's Greatest Workplaces may find they have substantial advantages over their competitors," said Nancy Cooper, global editor in chief for Newsweek, in the report. "Employees at these companies like their work, and people who like what they do are more motivated and engaged."
Plaza Shopping Center gained an arcade with the March 1 opening of The Flying Lap LLC; the repurposing of space operated by Burrell Behavioral Health resulted in the March 18 opening of the company’s second autism center; and a group of downtown business owners teamed up to reopen J.O.B. Public House.
