Mercy Hospital Springfield ranks on list of best hospitals

Posted online

Mercy Hospital Springfield is among the nation's best hospitals, according to a recently released report by finance publication Money.com.

The Springfield hospital is the only one in Missouri named on Money.com's list of the best hospitals of 2024. Mercy announced the recognition in a news release this morning.

Mercy Hospital Springfield is No. 107 on the list of 115 hospitals. The Springfield hospital received an overall B grade and a B+ grade for price transparency, with Money.com listing the hospital's top specialty as dermatology and its top service as severe sepsis.

“We’re very honored to be on this list,” said BJ Roberts, chief financial officer at Mercy Springfield Communities, in the release. “Patient care is always our No. 1 focus, and after earning back-to-back Leapfrog A safety ratings, we know our track record for providing the best patient outcomes is strong. But making this list also demonstrates our focus on providing transparent pricing and supporting our patients when they have questions about a bill or if they need financial assistance to help with a bill.”

Mercy Hospital Springfield late last year earned an A grade, the top rank possible, in Leapfrog Group's fall hospital safety grades list, according to past reporting.

In its list, Money.com considered over 13,500 data points in partnership with health care transparency firm Denniston Data.

No. 1 on the list is Florida-based AdventHealth Orlando.
