Nixa seeks resident feedback on new flag design

Posted online

The city of Nixa is changing its flag, and three options have been presented as finalists for resident feedback.

City officials have set up a website for residents to vote on the next flag.

All of the options have an X in the negative space amid converging arrows designed to symbolize a crossroads. They feature the city's signature red and blue colors, and the third option additionally shows a city silhouette.

Nixa City Council selected the three finalists during its Aug. 28 meeting, according to a news release. The flag survey is available until the morning of Sept. 18.

The new flag would help the city update its branding after new logos, colors, fonts and other visual design aspects were rolled out in 2022.

The current flag, featuring a large, swooping X, a soaring eagle, trees and buildings on a red background, was adopted in 2018 after a flag design contest, according to past reporting.
