Michael Doss, creator of Emerson Park, started making his own coffee soap as a hobby. Seeing a demand, he started selling products online and to retail stores across the country. Doss says they quickly learned that scaling was critical to expanding the number of retailers they served and managing their product line. “It was a struggle actually in the beginning for us. I feel like we added too many products at once,” says Doss. “With adding too many products at once, it was hard to keep up.”
