A Focus on Community and Employee Well Being

Posted online

Serving eight counties in southwest Missouri, Citizens Memorial Hospital/Health Care Foundation (CMH) is a fully integrated health system that contributes to the health of communities by offering multigenerational services.

Benefits

CMH’s compensation structure includes an expansive benefit package including a zero-premium option for health and dental coverage, work/life balance, positive work environment and physical/mental wellness.

The employee health plan includes vision and prescription drug coverage as well as wellness and employee services programs to help employees stop smoking, reduce stress, lose weight or improve their health lifestyle habits, and plan for retirement.

CMH contributes money to employees’ retirement accounts in addition to a traditional matched savings plan for retirement. “Because we know investments can be difficult to keep current, employees have access to local investment advisers at no cost,” said Jeremy MacLaughlin, director of human resources at CMH.

Community Engagement

“At the core of CMH culture is community involvement and engagement,” said MacLaughlin. “We are committed to creating and sustaining programs that support wellness, disease prevention, and charity.” CMH offers health programs to rural public and private schools, collaborates with local county health departments and offers senior-focused wellness programs to those 55 and up at the CMH Senior Health Center, Bolivar, and offers community education programs such as cooking classes, lunch and learns, and parenting programs.

“If you ask our employees why they work at Citizens Memorial, they’ll tell you because they want to make a difference in people’s lives,” said MacLaughlin. “It is the perfect place to have a meaningful career in a supportive environment. They are our friends and family caring for our friends and family.”
