Advanced Cabling

Innovations in Tech Service and Workplace Culture

Posted online

Bundling technological services is a fairly new concept. Tech companies offering integrated services have the ability to provide clients with a single point of contact and accountability, eliminating the need to coordinate and manage multiple contractors while reducing overall costs.

It was this demand for ease of contact and efficiency that led to the founding of Advanced Cabling in 1997.  Started in Arkansas with just 3 employees, the company celebrates its twentieth anniversary this year. Today Advanced Cabling serves clients in 20 states with 6 offices in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri, which includes the acquisition of Centralarm in Ozark in 2016.  The company currently employs over 190 employees.

Although Advanced Cabling started exclusively as a structured cabling company, today they offer a full suite of services including:

• Fiber optic cabling installation

• Structured cabling installation

• Audio/Visual systems

• Paging and intercom systems

• Complete commercial and industrial fire alarm solutions

• Closed circuit television security systems

• Complete monitoring and testing of all systems including 24/7 monitoring of fire and security systems

• Nurse Call

• Infant Protection

Advanced Cabling employs dedicated specialists for each service offered. Technical staff undergoes rigorous training and all carry certification from the worldwide association for cabling design and installation professions, BICSI.

Compensation Model Drives Customer Service

The company also emphasizes that since employees don’t work on commission, clients are assured of getting only the systems they need. “Advanced Cabling’s offerings aren’t one size fits all,” says President Michael Kennedy. “Services are tailored to meet the specific needs of each client, whether they are in education, health care, government, or commercial industry.”

Another distinguishing feature of Advanced Cabling is its workplace culture. “We only hire people we’d want to hang out with after 5 pm,” says Kennedy. “ We care about our employees. We take care of them and put them first. They feel invested in the company and truly care for our clients.”

This attention to detail and creating a familial workplace culture has proven to be a successful formula. The company has seen double-digit growth since its inception.

“Our goal was never to be the biggest,” says Kennedy.  “Instead, we’ve always wanted to be the best, offering the best services and hiring the best people.”
