Ample Industries Inc.

Nixa’s Best Kept Secret

Posted online

Ample Industries may be the best-kept secret in Nixa, but their customer base and labels are known and recognizable on numerous local and internationally known brands.

Ample has been designing and printing labels for a variety of products and industries since 1968. In that time, the company has seen many changes in the industry, not least of which is with the process itself.

Flexography, a relief printing method using photopolymer plates and fluid inks, is still the most common way labels are manufactured. However, with the advent of new technology that offers exceptional print quality, faster print speeds and more options for die cutting and finishing labels, the industry is moving ever closer to a primarily digital environment, and not just in printing technology.

“At Ample we see the future of printing evolving quickly and we strive to keep pace with that changing technology,” says President David Menzies. “We are continually investing in new printing presses and offering more services to keep up with the demand for lower costs and faster turnaround times for our customers.”

The human touch is what sets Ample apart in a world where it’s becoming easier and easier to order whatever you need with the click of a mouse. Ample also offers a competitive advantage over purchasing labels from a faceless company online. In-house graphic design means clients can communicate directly with the person working on their project to ensure they get the result they want. “If a customer has an idea for something different, we’ll do everything in our power to figure out a way to produce it”, says Menzies.

Ample is also able to accommodate clients across the spectrum, from those just starting to establish their brand to those who have long had a place in the public eye. To that end, Ample doesn’t have a minimum labels ordered requirement. “The order of 150 labels is just as important to us an order requiring millions,” says Vice President Natalie Menzies-Spradlin. “With an in-house graphic design department and digital presses, we’re an ideal resource for a fledgling company. We’ll walk you through every step of the process.”

“We know that our success is determined by the success of our customers. There are two ways to stand out from competitors,” she says, “make a better product and provide better service. We take business personally.”

The longevity of the company gives them a competitive edge as well, and one-third of Ample’s 63 employees have been with the company over 20 years.  “We’ve been here for 50 years and are looking forward to the future and to navigating all the changes the next 50 years are sure to have in store,” says Menzies.
