Burrell investing $3.4M on wage hike

Burrell Behavioral Health is investing more than $3.4 million in its workforce.

The Springfield-based behavioral and mental health care provider is increasing its minimum hourly pay to $15 starting next month, according to a news release. The pay raise represents a 30% increase from the organization's current minimum wage of $11.50 per hour.

“It is absolutely critical that we support the individuals who are supporting the behavioral health needs of our communities,” Burrell President and CEO C.J. Davis said in the release. “This increase reflects not only the competitive realities of our markets, but the essential, life-saving role of behavioral health workers within the wider health care industry.”

Officials with Burrell estimate more than 1,000 of its 1,800-employee workforce will be impacted by the wage hike in southwest and central Missouri, as well as northwest Arkansas. In a column for Springfield Business Journal's Sept. 13 print edition, Davis also said Burrell is providing "commensurate raises for a number of positions in similarly positioned roles."

Burrell reported $151 million in revenue and revenue growth of 47% between 2018 and 2020 for Springfield Business Journal's 2021 Dynamic Dozen awards this spring. During that same time period, its employee growth was 70%.

Burrell follows CoxHealth and Mercy in boosting minimum wages systemwide. CoxHealth is increasing to $15.25 per hour, with Mercy going to $15 per hour.

If they wanted to hire talent they would NOT enforce that unconstitutional mandate to shoot some poisonous NON vaccine into you.

Gotta tell ya. I am not feeling any compassion for our medical administrators. Shame on them for pretending masks, social distancing and lockdowns would hide us from a virus! These last two years I have witnessed more evil from what were once trusted institutions. No longer. I want to see more whistleblowers come forward. Just like we did this week! Federally employed nurse! Do what she did. Contact Project Veritas and James O’Keefe. Nurses and Doctors from all across the country are coming forward and reporting alleged fraud and lies being perpetrated by the administration? Someone is lying? We KNOW we have a totally dishonest media. We KNOW we have a totally dishonest and illegitimate regime in the White House. We KNOW there was NO “pandemic” at all. We KNOW the 80 yr old liar Fauci is corrupt! Read his emails sports fans. The truth can sting. Tomorrow morning I have a doctor appt. I know they will still be wearing masks and forcing it on their staff. Its pointless and unhealthy. They KNOW it!! No sympathy.
