Carthage chamber CEO to retire

Posted online

Carthage Chamber of Commerce CEO Mark Elliff is retiring after nine years at the helm.

Elliff is slated to exit the organization by year's end.

He looked back at his time with the chamber in an interview with the Joplin Globe.

“We worked with the city on the enhanced enterprise zone tax incentives for the industries that allowed them to expand and to bring in more jobs," he said, noting chamber involvement in the "enhanced enterprise zone was almost $300 million invested in capital improvements."

He added that "new jobs over that time period were nearly at 500."
