“You have to really have control of your distribution and also who is actually selling,” says Vera Gibbons, managing member with Baby Foot. Gibbons says they sold more than 60,000 units their first year, and recently have had problems with people selling knockoff products via online retailers. Gibbons says it’s critical that online storefronts help businesses by taking down sites that are selling fake merchandise.
