Curb Appeal: $8.6M in high-end homes listed in July

High-end home listings in Springfield dropped last month, according to Southern Missouri Regional MLS data.

For the monthly editorial series Curb Appeal, Springfield Business Journal compiled a list of single-family homes listed last month within city limits with an asking price of $500,000 or more.

In July, 12 homes made the list, down from 17 in June and 22 in May. In April, 10 high-dollar homes hit the market in Springfield.

Including a $1.5 million east Springfield house that topped high-dollar homes listed in July, the combined listing prices exceeded $8.6 million, according to the MLS data.

Statewide statistics
Sales price averages in the state were up in June, the most recent month of data available from the Missouri Realtors organization.

Statewide, the average residential sale price for homes was $223,887 in June, up 0.8% from the same month a year earlier, according to a Missouri Realtors report. Total dollar volume for sold homes grew 7.5% to roughly $1.9 billion.

The 8,643 residential properties sold in June are up 6.6% from statewide activity in June 2019.

Greater Springfield Board of Realtors data show the average price of homes sold in the area was $213,074 in June. The homes averaged 33 days on the market before selling.
