French President Emmanuel Macron is taking a hard line with unvaccinated citizens in the country.
“I really want to piss them off,” Macron told a French publication. “I’m not going to throw [the unvaccinated] in prison. I’m not going to get them vaccinated by force. We put pressure on the unvaccinated by limiting their access to social activities as much as possible.”
Currently, French citizens must present proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test to enter public spaces. A planned new law starting Jan. 15 would ban most unvaccinated citizens from those venues.
