EU moves to require single plug for phones

The European Union is seeking to require a single plug for mobile devices.

Legislation proposed by the European Commission, the bloc’s executive arm, would mandate USB-C cables for charging.

The EU wants to cut down on on the 11,000 metrics tons of electronic waste thrown out every year by Europeans, The Associated Press reports.
