Project description: Mid-America Safety & Environmental is building a training facility in north Springfield to accommodate its 30-40 classes per year. The Nixa-based company specializes in Occupational Safety and Health Administration compliance consulting and safety training. Plans call for a classroom that holds 50 people, rooms to conduct asbestos and lead abatement training, and a confined space for rescue training simulation, said owner Russell Hinds. He said the company has been holding classes in a trailer. Designs provide additional office space for eight employees.
