General Motors late last week announced a temporary pay cut for its entire salaried workforce of roughly 69,000 employees.
Company officials said the reduced salaries would be repaid with interest no later than March 15, 2021.
Some 6,500 U.S. employees who cannot work from home will go on paid leave.
GM reportedly is trying to save cash amid the coronavirus crisis.
