When Ron Kinney with Kinney Vending, Amusement, and Billiards Company, came back from serving in Vietnam, he started working in the family business with his father. When his father was killed in an auto accident, Kinney found himself thrust into leading the company and learning all the business aspects on the fly. Kinney says his wife Donna took care of the finances while he repaired machines and sought new locations.
“They, my mom and dad, looked at the business as a business, whereas many of their competitors had other distractions,” says Emily Kinney Carroll. Kinney Carroll says her parents invested in new machines and technology, using innovation to put them ahead of the competition.
