Hong Kong airline to cut 8,500 jobs

Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific Airways announced plans to cut 8,500 jobs.

The total, which includes 2,600 unfilled positions, amounts to about 24% of the company's workforce.

Officials cited a drop in air travel amid the coronavirus pandemic.
