Joplin-based Aesir Technologies Inc. selected Rapid City, South Dakota, for the site of a future battery plant.
Joplin was one of 21 cities in the running for the nickel-zinc battery manufacturer's plant.
“It is important to note that we will continue to serve the aerospace and defense part of our business plan out of our Joplin, Missouri, manufacturing plant," said Aesir President and CEO Randy Moore.
