Joplin tornado remembered on 10-year anniversary

The 10-year anniversary of the deadly Joplin tornado is May 22.

On that day a decade ago, an EF-5 tornado ripped through the city and damaged 7,500 buildings. More than 160 people were killed and 1,000 injured.

Former President Barack Obama, Sen. Roy Blunt and former Gov. Jay Nixon were among officials who visited the area in the days after the storm.
