KC-area company lands $27M incentive package

Leawood, Kansas-based technology startup Torch.AI scored a $27 million tax incentive package.

The package from the Kansas Department of Commerce is designed to incentivize the creation of nearly 500 full-time jobs over five years.

Torch.AI's artificial intelligence software can analyze large amounts of data quickly for enterprise customers such as Microsoft Corp. and H&R Block.
