Kansas City-based Children’s Mercy hired attorney Michelle Wimes as its new senior vice president and chief equity and inclusion officer.
Wimes comes to the health care system after previously working at Ogletree Deakins Nash Smoak & Stewart PC.
“This is a pivotal time, not just for Children’s Mercy, but also for our region and country,” said Children’s Mercy President and CEO Paul Kempinski. “Reducing health disparities in the communities where our patients and families live, and building an organizational culture of engagement, diversity and collaboration are crucial steps in this work as we move toward our vision of creating a world of well-being for children.”
