Award-Winning LedgeStone at StoneBridge Village Open To Public

Posted online

Since its inception in 16th century Scotland, the game of golf has been enjoyed by millions of people and is still going strong nearly five centuries later. Golf is a $70 billion U.S. industry and employs nearly 2 million people.

The topography and terrain of the Ozarks lends itself well to golf course design and in recent years courses have sprung up in and around Branson, making a golf getaway in the Ozarks a reality.

StoneBridge Village community is located just 10 miles from Branson and is home to the 18-hole LedgeStone Golf Course. Golf Digest has described the course as “a masterpiece of mountain golf architecture” for its use of the natural terrain. LedgeStone Country Club at StoneBridge Village has also been named one of the top five golf courses in the state of Missouri from 2012-2016.

While StoneBridge Village is known as a residential community with a golf course, the course is, in fact, open to the public. “We welcome groups and tournaments of various sizes,” says General Manager Bill Hasler, “anyone of any age who’s interested in playing an award-winning 18-hole golf course with country club quality service and amenities. We’re open to the public and are excited to share our wonderful facility with our guests year-round.”

Hasler says the course was designed with the intent of blending in with the beauty of its natural surroundings and includes a driving range, short game practice area, and a designated putting only green. “We’re only minutes away from Branson but once you get here all you feel is the serenity of being in an Ozarks oasis far removed from the crowds,” says Hasler.

StoneBridge Village assists with all the details that go into planning a golf getaway for a group of friends and hosts Pro-Am charity tournaments serving up to 150 players. Dining and meeting spaces are also available for various sized groups.

“Our Grille is the perfect place to enjoy drinks after a round of golf or to grab a bite to eat if you’re not golfing and just want some beautiful scenery to accompany your meal,” says Hasler, “and the Pro Shop is fully stocked with equipment and apparel. If a particular item isn’t on hand, staff can special order almost anything and have it shipped to a golfer’s residence, anywhere in the country.”

Recently, the club acquired Club Car Precedent golf carts that are equipped with Visage GPS monitors to give precise distances to the golfer. The carts also keep players safer by controlling speeds on steep declines. The club also installed 250 feet of new cart path on the 18th hole to make it easier for golfers to park closer to their balls on days when carts are restricted to cart paths.

“We provide country club quality service with the feeling that our customers are old friends returning to a top-rated championship golf course that’s guaranteed not to disappoint,” says Hasler. “We are the best little secret in the Ozarks.”
