Legacy Firm Expands Litigation Services

Posted online

Appleby Healy, Attorneys at Law has been a mainstay in the legal community in the Ozarks for nearly 100 years. For the past several years, estate law has been the primary focus of Appleby Healy but the firm has added attorneys and staff, expanding its offerings to include litigation services in a variety of legal areas, once again making Appleby Healy a true full-service law firm.

Donovan Dobbs recently moved from being Of Counsel with Appleby Healy to managing attorney of the Appleby Healy Litigation Group. Joining the firm’s litigation group are attorneys Sarah Johnson and Rashel Pack. While Donovan Dobbs has decades of general litigation experience and has successfully prosecuted and defended over 100 jury trials in Missouri and Oklahoma, Sarah  Johnson has litigated cases on behalf of Toyota Motor Manufacturing, WalMart and many other corporate entities in the areas of labor and employment law, product liability, premises liability and personal injury while practicing law in Kentucky. With Appleby Healy, Johnson’s practice focuses on the areas of civil litigation and employment law. Rashel Pack, who is originally from Ozark, was most recently with Armstrong Teasdale’s St. Louis office and has experience with intellectual property law which primarily dealt with the preparation and prosecution of U.S. and foreign patent applications related to chemical inventions.

The addition of Johnson and Pack will expand the following litigation services to the firm’s transactional services:

  • Civil litigation
  • Probate litigation
  • Criminal defense
  • Employment law
  • Domestic and family litigation

“This expansion means we can meet most of our clients’ litigation needs in house,” said Donovan Dobbs. Now, instead of strictly dealing with clients’ transactional needs, the firm can handle any other legal issues that may arise for those clients and their families.

“As both Ozark and Christian County grow, we want to grow with them,” said David Healy. “Expanding the firm and adding these crucial services was just the next logical step in our growth and our mission to serve all of our clients’ needs.”

Appleby Healy, Attorneys at Law was established nearly 100 years ago and is the sixth oldest continuous business in Christian County. Healy said that longevity contributes to clients’ confidence that the firm will be there for them in 10 or 20 years when it comes to their legal needs.

Appleby Healy, Attorneys at Law will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2024.
