FosterAdopt Connect's Springfield leader was promoted to a newly created regional position.

Allison Gregory said this morning she starts July 26 as president of regional operations for the nonprofit.

"We are seeing an enormous trajectory of growth at FosterAdopt Connect," she said. "It's our plan to add three more resource centers in the next 14 to 18 months."

Independence-based FosterAdopt Connect works with foster children and families with a variety of services, including developmental behavior support, training and advocacy.

In her new role, Gregory said she would oversee overall operations for the new resource centers, as well as the local office at 509 S. Cavalier Ave. A search currently is being conducted for her successor to lead day-to-day operations at the Springfield resource center.

As president of regional operations, Gregory additionally will oversee resource centers in Chillicothe and Poplar Bluff, she said. The locations for the planned three new resource centers have not yet been determined, but they would be placed in "resource deserts" where services are limited or unavailable, she said.

"In Springfield alone, we have six different programs that really help fill the gaps for the needs of foster kids and the families who are caring for them," Gregory said.

Gregory said FosterAdopt Connect had an overall 2020 budget of roughly $10 million, with $1.4 million of that earmarked for the Springfield area. FosterAdopt also has an office in Kansas City, Kansas.
