Generic drug manufacturer Mallinckrodt Pharmaceuticals reached a tentative deal to settle opioid claims.
Through the deal, Mallinckrodt would pay a $1.6 billion settlement and enter its generics business into Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
The settlement comes amid thousands of lawsuits in a federal case that seeks to determine who should be held financially liable for the impact of the opioid crisis.
