CrossBreed Holsters LLC is injecting $600,000 in capital into its business as part of relocation plans.

Nathan Engelking, executive vice president of marketing, said the company is moving to the former Midland Paper building at 4596 W. Junction St., near the intersection of Chestnut Expressway and Interstate 44. The gun holster manufacturer currently operates at 6955 W. Carnahan St. along State Highway MM south of I-44.

The relocation and expansion also mean CrossBreed Holsters will hire 10 additional employees to its existing workforce of 58, according to a news release from the Missouri Department of Economic Development.

“The high standard of quality built into every product we sell and ingrained into every employee we have has continued to propel our business to newer and greater levels of success each year,” company owner Carol Craighead said in the release. “Each position we add is not only an investment in our business, but an investment in Springfield and all of greater southwest Missouri that we are so fortunate to call home.”

Engelking said the move is planned in March, but a specific date has not been set.

CrossBreed Holsters is utilizing incentives through the Missouri Works program, which provides withholdings or tax credits in exchange for job creation. The amount of incentives was not detailed in the release.

The 15-year-old company fills orders customized by the size and make of the gun, special features specific to a gun type and embroidery work, according to past reporting.
