Missouri man pleads guilty to PPP fraud

A Missouri man pleaded guilty this week to fraudulently obtaining more than $500,000 worth of Paycheck Protection Program loans.

Brian Ruth, 44, of Deepwater, admitted his guilt to charges of wire fraud and money laundering.

Ruth falsely claimed three businesses – Ruth Properties MGM LLC, Ruth Properties MGM and Ruth Trucking LLC – were operational and had numerous employees, according to federal prosecutors.

He used the funds for personal expenses, such as vehicles and gambling, according to the U.S. attorney’s office for the Western District of Missouri.
