Missouri Southern State University this week received a $1 million donation from the estate of late alumnus Joel Newby.
The funding will provide financial assistance for first-year students.
Newby's donation also provides the foundation for the Global Leaders Program, through which students can network with future employers and participate in other job initiatives.
