NY governor denies permit for crypto plant

New York Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration denied a key permit for a gas-powered cryptocurrency mining operation.

The proposed facility in the Finger Lakes would pollute too much under the state's climate law, according to the governor's office.

The state's government has been working to curb pollution from cryptocurrency mining facilities that have popped up across upstate New York.
