Olathe man sentenced for construction fraud scheme

An Olathe, Kansas, man was sentenced to two years and four months in federal prison for a construction fraud scheme.

Matthew McPherson, 45, reportedly used his business to fraudulently obtain government contracts meant for veterans and minorities.

McPherson, who operated Zieson Construction Co. in Topeka, was not eligible for the contracts, according to the Kansas City Business Journal.
