After the company's stock hit a new 52-week high late last month, O’Reilly Automotive Inc. (Nasdaq: ORLY) executives have traded more than 20,000 shares.
The combined value of the trades involving three company officers and one board member was $7.7 million, according to U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filings. The trades were made July 30-Aug. 5.
The top trade was valued at $3.9 million by Greg Henslee, executive vice chairman of the board, according to an SEC filing. He utilized SEC transaction code M – through which executives can buy shares at set rates and sell them later at market prices – to trade 10,000 shares Aug. 4-5.
The other trades, by value, were conducted by:
• Jeff Shaw, chief operating officer and co-president, $2.9 million, utilizing code M;
• Darin Venosdel, senior vice president of inventory management, $754,825, utilizing code M; and
• John Murphy, board member, $117,618.
O’Reilly Automotive's stock hit its current 52-week stock high of $487.95 during the morning of July 30, following the release of the company's second quarter earnings report. The company posted $531.7 million in second quarter profits, a 50% increase from a year earlier.
ORLY shares were trading at $465.09 as of 10:37 a.m. The stock's 52-week low is $251.52.
