Ozark School District brings on interim CFO

Posted online

The Ozark School District Board of Education appointed an interim assistant superintendent of business and chief financial officer.

Lori Wilson is scheduled to start in the roles on July 1, according to a news release. Tammy Short, who currently holds the positions, is taking a leave of absence for the 2022-23 academic year.

"Tammy Short's leave of absence is a personal leave of absence. Her position will be determined upon her return to the district," said Casey Owens, the district's director of communications, via email.

It's a return to the district for Wilson, who started her administrative career in 2009 as Ozark High School assistant principal. After that, she worked as Nixa Junior High principal and Aurora Schools assistant superintendent, and she's been superintendent of the West Plains School District since 2018.

“I am excited to be back at the Ozark School District,” Wilson said in the release. “I can’t wait to work with the faculty and staff on the wonderful initiatives that are happening in this district. Ozark is a highly regarded district with the reputation for always basing decisions on the quality of educational experiences for our children."

Short in 2018 was named the top financial officer for Springfield Business Journal’s Dynamic Dozen awards.
