Parson appoints local judge

Posted online

Gov. Mike Parson on Friday announced the appointment of T. Todd Myers to a recently vacated Greene County judgeship.

Myers succeeds Becky Borthwick as associate judge for Greene County’s 31st Circuit, according to a news release. Parson in October 2019 appointed Borthwick to a new circuit judge position for the 31st Judicial Circuit. The job was created by the Missouri General Assembly last year.

A career prosecutor, Myers is currently chief assistant to Greene County Prosecuting Attorney Dan Patterson. He took on his current role in 2011 after joining the prosecutor’s office in 1999, according to the county’s website. At the county, he supervises daily operations of the office and handles homicide cases.

Myers has tried myriad cases, including homicides, manslaughters, assaults and robberies. Prior to joining the county, the Evangel University graduate started his career as assistant city prosecutor in Wichita, Kansas, according to the Greene County website.

Additionally, Myers has served as an adjunct professor at Evangel and is a certified instructor at the Springfield Police Academy.
