The Kansas City Royals began a process in earnest that would determine where their next home would be.
Team Chair and CEO John Sherman said a move to downtown could be on the table, noting the Royals franchise needs "to have a positive impact on the quality of life for our citizens in Kansas City, with a particular focus on those underrepresented parts of our community."
The team's current lease at Kauffman Stadium expires in a decade.
