SBJ Sales Account Executive Position

Springfield Business Journal is seeking a full-time professional sales account executive. This position isn’t for everybody. To be the next great SBJ sales rep, here are a few things you should possess:

•Ability to plan and organize, set priorities, and multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

•Ability to make appointments with business owners and decision makers to generate revenue and meet/exceed established sales targets.

•Ability to conduct a thorough business needs analysis and uncover a budget. Then prepare and present a strategic solution to the prospect by delivering an effective sales presentation.

•Ability to ask for the sale. Ability to close NEW business and maintain high standards of service after the sale.

•Account executive must maintain client communication and ensure client satisfaction.

•Account executive is responsible for assisting in the development of advertisements and for placing advertisements correctly in print and online formats.

•Must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite software and ability to learn specialty software products used at SBJ.

•You must be able to work independently, be self-motivated, competitive and have strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

•You must understand market dynamics including demographics.

•You should have a high stress tolerance especially with relentless deadlines.

•You should have a professional appearance and the confidence to communicate with business owners and executives daily.

Springfield Business Journal is a multi-media, independently owned and operated media company. The position offers a base salary for 6 months, then transitions to full commission. Standard holidays along with paid leave are available immediately upon hire. Healthcare and 401k plans are available.
