SingleMomzRock founder Janelle Reed passed the leadership reins to a new manager.
Kendal Ford started this month, according to a news release. Reed decided to transition out of the role to focus solely on her position as advancement director for Victory Mission & Ministry, the umbrella organization of SingleMomzRock.
SingleMomzRock works to support single moms and provide awareness of local resources.
“I have walked this same path that most of these women are walking through, and I continue to walk it. Through my struggles, I turned to God and he was my rock," Reed said in the release. "I want to encourage single moms to lean on him as that rock and show them the difference it can make in their lives – like it did in mine.”
Ford moved to Springfield in September 2020 after living in Ethiopia for two years as a missionary. Ford also is a single mom with an 11-year-old daughter. She received her bachelor's degree from McDaniel College in Westminster, Maryland, and has eight years of nonprofit experience.
“I love nonprofit work because I love being connected to and serving the communities where I live and work, especially communities of people who are often overlooked and marginalized by society," Ford said in the release.
SingleMomzRock joined the nonprofit umbrella of Victory Mission in 2017.
