The Hamras selected Drury, Evangel and Missouri State universities, as well as Ozarks Technical Community College, in town, each to receive two paintings. Six years ago, the couple made a similar donation of art to several schools – then valued at $520,000.

Construction progress sparked by Springfield Public Schools’ 2019 passage of the $168 million Proposition S bond issue continues to pop up across the city. On Dec. 9, SPS officials break ground on the new Jarrett Middle School, a $41.5 million project at the site of the recently demolished Portland Elementary School. Branco Enterprises Inc. is serving as general contractor.
