Crossland Construction Establishes Springfield Roots

Posted online

Crossland Construction has been working in Springfield and the surrounding area for many years. Two years ago, the company established its ninth office location in Springfield.

Lance Garrett, Vice President of the Springfield division has been with Crossland for almost ten years. “I'm excited about the opportunity to be based here in my hometown of Springfield with my family and to develop a strong team of local professionals to serve our community.”

“We've seen exponential growth in this area, which can be largely attributed to the Springfield based Crossland team,” says Garrett. Each member was hand picked based on their capabilities, commitment to excellence, client service focus, and their collaborative and can do attitude. “The successful performance of this team has helped us build upon Crossland Construction's positive local brand and expanding client base. We also contribute our growth to the peace of mind our clients have thanks to our extensive resources.” Crossland has been in business for more than four decades, and has expertise in the construction of a wide variety of project types.

Garrett says having a Springfield office provides Crossland clients with the best of both worlds - the local, personalized service affiliated with a smaller company, backed by the resources and expertise of one of the largest construction companies in the country.

While relatively new to the Springfield area, Crossland Construction was established in a tightly knit small town where community engagement and neighborly compassion are cornerstones. The company has always actively sought out opportunities to serve those around them. “As we branch out into new regions, we take that same dedication to the local community with us,” says Garrett.

One way Crossland applies its decades of experience to the local market is through the Construction Management at Risk (CMAR) contracting method. “With Missouri recently passing laws that enable CMAR, we anticipate seeing more of this collaborative and value based way of designing and constructing a building,” says Garrett. “Achieving the most successful outcome with construction management requires the selection of a contractor that has expertise in the type of project you are constructing so they can bring this specific knowledge to provide informed solutions during the pre-construction phase.” Like a hard bid, CMAR does establish a contracted guaranteed maximum price prior to construction start.

As the market adjusts to the new option, Crossland will continue to compete in traditional hard bid delivery, which is still a preferred method by many owners.

Over the past couple of years, Crossland’s Springfield team has enhanced the community through the construction of hotels, auto dealerships, retail, restaurant, and warehouse projects. Some of Crossland Construction's most recent area projects include the Aquarium at the Boardwalk in Branson, Ozark Technical Community College's Agricultural Training Center, and the new Delaware Elementary, which is one of the projects in Springfield Public Schools' bond program.

“As we execute a detailed business development plan that focuses on continued growth in this area, we're looking forward to meeting you, serving you, and making a difference right here in Springfield,” says Garrett.
