Democrats take narrow control of Senate

Amid a changing of the guard in the presidency yesterday, Democrats also took narrow control of the U.S. Senate.

Democrats Raphael Warnock and Jon Ossoff of Georgia and Alex Padilla of California were sworn in to split the Senate 50-50.

Vice President Kamala Harris holds the decisive vote in any tie between Republicans and Democrats.

Democrats also control the House with a 221-211 majority.
