Dolphins disciplined for improperly pursuing GOAT

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross has been suspended and fined $1.5 million, and the team stripped of two high draft picks, following the team’s improper pursuit of quarterback Tom Brady.

On Tuesday, the NFL announced the sanctions for pursuing the future Hall of Fame signal-caller – popularly labeled the Greatest of All Time, or GOAT – while he was still under contract with the New England Patriots in 2019-20. Brady is now the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Making overtures toward players under contract with another team is considered tampering and is strictly forbidden by the NFL.
