EEOC sues Walmart for alleged discrimination

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed suit against Walmart for alleged discrimination against a disabled worker.

Officials with the EEOC allege a Charlotte Walmart store employee with Crohn’s disease was not provided reasonable accommodation.

The employee allegedly was fired for exceeding the number of unexcused absences allowed under company policy due to symptoms related to Crohn’s disease, according to the EEOC lawsuit.
