Facebook to pay up to $14.25M to settle discrimination claims

Facebook agreed to pay up to $14.25 million to settle discrimination claims levied by the U.S. government.

The social media network was accused of discriminating against American workers and violating federal recruitment rules.

The Justice Department in late 2020 sued Facebook over its alleged policy of giving hiring preferences to temporary workers, including those who hold H-1B visas.
