Changing The Business Of Healthcare

Posted online

Many businesses find themselves in a quandary when it comes to being able to provide affordable health care coverage to employees. Faith Immediate Care is looking to change that by using a model that allows employers to provide quality health care for employees without breaking the bank.

Starting as an occupational health clinic to help companies with physicals, drug screens and work comp injuries, Faith Immediate Healthcare has the potential to become something revolutionary. “We all know healthcare has been a mess for a long time and the more I researched, the more I realized there was a need for a huge shift in how the health care industry works,“ says owner and founder Dennis Hall. “The way the system is set up now, you have these huge insurance companies that dictate what’s covered and how much you’ll pay. It hasn’t always been that way. We feel like it needs to be shifted back to the way it used to be where it’s more of a one-on-one between the health care providers and the people who need care.”

While Hall recognizes the need for insurance in certain circumstances, like catastrophic care for instance, he also believes that insurance companies have become so entrenched in the health care industry that costs have spun out of control for the average individual or business.

The mission of Faith Immediate Care is to change the current model by cutting out the middleman, the insurance company. “I’ve run several different businesses and anytime you can cut someone or something that is not integral or adding to the services provided, you do it,” says Hall.

Faith Immediate Care charges a low monthly membership fee and each service has a flat fee that the member is made aware of before any service is provided. In addition to being able to provide services to individuals and families, Faith Immediate Care can also help provide coverage to businesses of any size. Companies that may be struggling with laws that necessitate providing insurance for their employees could see a significant cost reduction in choosing a clinic like Faith.

“I saw a way to maybe help change things. We can help a lot of folks, not just in the services we provide but we also want to show that this model works. You don’t have to spend $700 a month on insurance with an $8000 deductible,” says Hall.

Faith also prides itself on running like a well-oiled machine and providing personalized care. All employees are cross-trained in almost every task, with the exception of certain medical procedures, so that patients don’t have to block off an entire day for an office visit.  They also provide numerous services such as:

• DOT and non-DOT Physicals

• Drug Screens/Breath Alcohol Testing

• Worker’s Compensation Injuries

• Audios

• Wellness Exams

• Digital X-rays

• Urgent Care

• Treatment of lacerations, sprains, sore throats, upper respiratory infections, and much more

Hall sees clinics like his as the wave of the future. “We can help folks not only with the services that we provide, but hopefully others will duplicate this model and the industry will change, allowing people to get the affordable, efficient healthcare they deserve.”
