Fed's vice chair resigns earlier than planned

Richard Clarida, the Federal Reserve’s vice chair, is resigning earlier than planned.

He plans to step down Jan. 14, ahead of his seat's statutory expiration on Jan. 31.

Ethics experts raised questions over a move last year by Clarida, who sold a stock fund before quickly repurchasing it.
